Anyone else getting a bunch of unwanted friend requests after the update?

when i signed on after the update all the people who wanted to be my friend were already from my friends list, i think they removed every1s friends and forced people into either a fan or favourite column. when i logged on there was only a few friends, presumably those who had confirmed friendship from the other side so to speak

Yep, friend has to be confirmed from both partys...
So if both of you had set friend before, it stayed that way, if only one had it set, then you moved to appropriate column.
Sadly, that effectively ruined my network of good players whom i joined quite often. On the other hand, based on "fans" quite a lot of us did the same thing. Bad is that you cannot see "favorites" in game client

yeah your probably right actually, i think my favourites list is longer than my friends list
