Game Times Out

I can get all the way into a game room. But when i click start game the game just stays in the lobby. The mouse freezes for about seconds. After the 10 seconds the mouse is movable again, but I'm still in the lobby. Basically it won't go into the game.

Oh wow this has happened to me before.
Right click on Combat Arms then go to properties,then go to advanced and set compatibility mode for windows 98
