F2P can be more expensive than P2P. Take Combat Arms vs. CoD, Halo, or a number of other games-sure you can just go the GP only route on Combat Arms, but a lot of people get NX, which costs you more money, and if you buy lots of NX, well then you'll run up your tab so to speak. With P2P games, you buy the game, and you simply unlock stuff or buy stuff with in game money ONLY-the only real $$ you use is for map packs, which not having them doesn't affect anything-it's not detrimental to you if you don't have them, and it doesn't exactly help you.
Both have their pros and cons...I'd lean more towards P2P, personally, but I'm getting back to Combat Arms...
