why cant the wii have an email app?

Well it kinda does. Down on the wii menu in the bottom-right corner is that envelope symbol, you can email your friends there, and you get updates from places like miiplaza.net

well, some people didn't get the internet app, although most people have. Also, I don 't see why you would want an email account specifically for your wii.

You can email your Wii from hotmail etc. I know it's not the same but you can.
Try w(Wii Number here)@wii.com. For Example: w123456789012@wii.com. and you will send emails to your wii
