During GDC 09, it was confirmed that Dead Rising will supposedly have a multiplayer mode that will feature up to 6,000 characters on-screen.

It was Laura Scholl, from the tech company mental mill who was helping out with the game. She was the one that stated there will be a multiplayer mode that would feature up to 6,000 characters on-screen. However, a recent report stated it was a slip of tongue mistake and she meant to say "multiplatform."

So she meant to actually say,
"6000 zombies on screen at any one time during multiplatform"
But that doesn't make any sense at all!
What could that mean? Maybe the executives don't want to give out any of that information too early and are trying to cover their tracks. Or perhaps they want to add it as DLC after the game is launched for a reasonable price. Hmm?
Nevertheless, I do hope they make multiplayer in Dead Rising 2 and I'm still thinking they will. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't include multiplayer.
