AntiVirus question....

Ok, this may be a dumb ass question to some but I don't know

I usually shut down my Antivirus and security center when i'm playin on steam to make the computer run faster, is this a bad thing to do since my internet explorer is not running? :?

Only if you go to some CS server other than this one, i'd think there might be some untrustworthy ones with embedded v's in their music files or maps....but punx only you should be fine :-P

If you want your system tuned I can help you with that. Post the specs of your machine (if you know them)

If you're unsure then go to Start Menu: Run...: type "dxdiag" and hit return.

I'm looking to know your:
(From the System tab)
-System Model
-Processor
-Memory
(From the display tab, in the device section on the left side)
-Name
-Approx. Total Memory
& (from the Sound tab)
-Name

I'm at work now but when I get home later I'll post the specs

Everyone should use HijackThis

It scans your running processes and produces a log file which you can analyze here:

Repair the nasty items with HJ, if you're not sure about some, just google them.

We use this tool at work I itterate these log files all the time, the tool works great, and it has an undo feature if you "fix" something that shouldn't have been fixed.
