Battleforge, have you tried it?

i keep seeing the advert for the free RTS Battleforge, has anyone actually tried this? i got abit more interested once i realised the cards are virtual, just a way of creating units.
The paid version just gives you a higher class of units quicker and some sort of Battlefunds equivalent from what i can tell.
If this is any good, i dont mind trying this out with someone on coop, i read you can do bigger missions for better loot.

According to my magazine it's ok. But apparaently they made it go free because nobody was interested in playing it and only a few bought the game lol. I'm not an RTS fan but for those who are might as well check it out.

you CAN get full version by attaining lvl's in free version of the game! Well i played it it's kinda funny if smd interested i can sell Battleforge points for $ or euros i've got like 593 or so points

yeah im just looking for someone who likes RTS games and wouldnt mind having a go, if its supposed to be a fun game then thats cool.
I dont think it epic failed because theyre releasing a series of new units now too.

Oh yeah avid fans of the genre bought it. I'm just saying for the people a bit more casual about it. Most didn't bother with it. they made the right choice to make it free

i didnt bought it (Free2Play version) and im not going to buy those points because i know i wont play it much...
but without those boosters ur units suck

I does sound and look really good i must admit. But i've never been an RTS fan. I'm torn

Just tried it out last night with a friend, got the free2play version.

Theres a learning curve to it, so you wont understand everything straight away but thats not a bad thing, the bad points are that you only get a few cards/units with the free version, to get more you need to buy them with BF.

Luckily everytime you win a game you get gold, and gold can be traded for BF (imagine trading VP for BF in BFH)....BUT its 1BF = about 900gold. 1 match on standard difficulty = 100gold.

People with BF do need alot of gold because selling their uber cards on the auction house costs alot of gold. So you do have a chance to get BF.

Ive only done a 3 missions on 2 player and WOW, i havnt played an RTS that really made me feel like i really am a TEAM, usually RTS team play means "accidentally" nuking your friend when the cooldown is ready This actually lets you heal your team, maps that encourage you to work together, rather punishing you for not working together.

Single player is still interesting too with bosses and choices in missions like whether to go out and kill the enemy, or to defend them when you call them to come and attack you.

One thing that doesnt make this a great game is the limited units/cards you start with. You still get a giant XL card green dragon to pwn with and other heavy units for free, but after a few hours with them you just want more.
