I saw that movie, Borat, last Thursday.
The movie is about a journalist from Kazakhstan which is given the great task to film a documentary about the "US and A". Going along with his Azamat, Borat arrives to New York where he is informed about disciplinary rules in the US aswell as it's humor. Seeing Pamela Anderson on the show Bay Watch, if I remember correctly, he immediately falls in love with her and intends to marry her. After convincing Azamat, they travel by a truck to California, experiencing several different situations during the trip, including standing against their most of all fear, jews. ( Funny enough that the actor which plays Borat is a jew himself, Sacha Baron Cohen. ) You might also want to know that many scenes in the movie are not mocked but real situations. The movie has several problems with the law during it's sessions which you will understand if you see the movie.

Borat is a great comedy movie and is already the #116th best film @ IMDB.com after being in cinemas for a very short period.

IMDB Rating:
8.6 ( 10,476 votes )

Trivia: Borat's hair and moustache are real. Sacha Baron Cohen grows them out when he plays Borat.

Sounds good. I was intending to watch the movie soon, but it isn't out in the cinema here just yet. I'm a bit hesitating of going with someone to watch the movie or watch it alone... or download it, for that matter. :p It's been too long.

Borat is a great guy, in my opinion. Quite harsh, but great nonetheless. I like his sense of humor, despite normally liking a completely different kind. He's a class of his own.

Borat is hilarious. Did any of you guys see his appearance on 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien' when he was promoting the movie few days ago. Definately got me interested in the movie. I'll have to watch (download) it :)

No, I didn't. To be honest, the first time (and one of thelast times, wouldn't it be for his "movie film") I've seen Borat was at the MTV-awards from last year, as I recall. I was watching a game of SC Heerenveen in the UEFA cup back then against (at that time) the current title holder, CSKA Moscow. Believe me, it is extremely annoying to switch channels every ten seconds. :p

I sure want to see Borat's "movie film" though. :p

Only saw bits from the MTV-awards show. Wasnt that interested in watching it because of the "music"-parts :).

But ye i'll definately watch the movie when it gets on dvd. I dont like to go to the cinemas to watch movies. So when it gets on dvd i'll have to download it, hehe :)

I actually watched it for the music (and the awards). At that point I didn't know Borat. When I first saw him and when he introduced I thought he was just your average kind of presentator... with an accent. I really had it with presentators that think they're all that great at that point. Truly, I was obviousely wrong, he made it a great show. Well, except that he made a few (minor) mistakes, such as mixing up the names of Greenday and Coldplay, which I wasn't a fan of back then just yet - I later started to appreciate Greenday and only recently I am enjoying Coldplay.
I forgot a bit about him until I saw him during the TMF-awards again when he was giving a little speech to the Dutch biggest artist, (with more than 50 awards in 10 years of time) Marco Borsato while promoting his movie... or "movie film," as he kept calling it. "You sing good, Marco. Currently popular in Kazachstan is dancing negro, Michael Jackson with his latest song: Beat it. Have you heard of him?"
Borat's short appearance during the MTV awards this year (in Kopenhagen) was quite good too, but I enjoy Justin Timberlake's style of presentating as well. "That's why I like you Jason, you know all the jew jokes."

I am not too fond on going to cinema's either, not to mention that I haven't been to one for quite some time now. However, if I can get a person with me (preferrable a girl), I am more than willing to go. :p
