Cant get on steam

Hmm..since about 2 days ago when punx was having crazy lag i havent been able to get on steam...If i put in the incorrect pword it says login failed, but if i put the correct pword it simply gives me an error saying i cannot connect...so obviously i am communicating with the login server. Any ideas?

Nm I got the help i needed - apparently my firewall was limiting the transfer rate for steam...so i guess i timed out as info was being transferred. Thanks anyway ^_^
