Message: <blockquote data-quote="rocklee" data-source="post: 135673" data-attributes="member: 7829">Suxor hit it right on the nose.  The popping sound was the charger dying.  Sure it will still charge your laptop but now its doing it in a dangerouse way.  My charger died once exactly the same way.  I didn't lag when I used to play but I was getting mini fireworks everytime I used it.  So I went out and bought a new charger and its good as new.  I play on my desktop now anyways, so its all good.  I'd be careful not to use your charger anymore.  It might blow the power supply on the laptop, and if that happens... it'll cost more than getting a new charger.</blockquote>
