Connection Problems

ok, so here's the deal guys... I can connect to punx from home and play, but if I'm at college, where I used to be able to play cz on punx... I can't play. I get to "connecting to server" and 3 bars.. but if I check the log it says I actually connected but nothing happened... it just sits there... no play. I have to VPN in order to get onto the uvm network.. never made any problems before with cz... why would source not connect? Any help is greatly appreciated. Or if it did connect why can I not play

(yes, I'm a bad student and I play Source while I'm supposed to be doing homework, lol it gets really hard when you are playing in class and have no sound)

Man, you're right, you are really a bad boy. I don't know if we should be contributing to your delinquency. Screw it. Let's get busy fixing it.

So we start by asking you a question:
1) When this happens have you tried pressing ~ and see if your console has a message indicating why you were not connected?

2) Do you have startup options for your steam game menu items (or desktop icons) and what are they for both CSS and CZ?

3) I assume when you had the problem with CSS that you then tried two things:
1) Tried another CSS server besides punx and it fails to load also
2) Verified that you can still get into a CZ server (in case the school has 27015 blocked now)

Hmm.. yeah I didn't try another CSS server... because I didn't know of any and you can't refresh the server list from my college either... that's always been like that. I will attempt those other options and see what happens and let ya know. As for checking the log, yes it says "connected to the punx ip" .. but that's it. Thanx for trying to help guys Worst comes to worst perhaps I'll just have to ... do school work? Damn!

Unfortunately it sounds like your screwed, source cz and cs all run the same port for the server browser function, if it dosnt wokr, your school most liekly has it blocked.
