Can anyone tell me what the console command is to turn off the GUI buy menu? I want the old nice text menus.

Also, whats the command to stop the music when your a T on Italy WITHOUT killing the radio.

i think changing the buy menu is in your options...


and about stopsound, bind that cause it is so helpful.... Aztec, Italy and more.

Yes I think it is in the options, however it keeps changing it back. I wanted to put it in the config file so that I don't have to set it each time.

The same thing happens with "Auto Weapon Pick Up" <-- i hate that!

Under the keyboard tab in options there is a bind for "Use Old Style Text Buy Menus" that isn't likely bound. Put your B key to it.

Looks like this might be the client command for it in the cfg file. Enter this into your userconfig.cfg:

setinfo _vgui_menus 0

Yeah I gotta turn off auto weapon every time i log on also... pain in the ass

I suggest a stopsound bind key. For some reason stopsound doesn't save round to round. So I have it binded to the P key for me.

bind p stopsound

It is helpful because it also kills other ambient noise in the maps. In Aztec, Inferno, and some other maps it easily silences the place so you can hear footsteps and gunfire MUCH better.

Amen! I hate that shit.. I'd also like to know how to permanently disable this foul feature. I guess I don't care so much about the stopsound - almost seems like cheating to me. Aren't the rain and the ambient noises part of the map? And if you do use that, does it also disable the sound of people moving through water in aztec?

Heres the command for the auto weapon switching on pickup: Or at least I think so. I'm at work and haven't tried it yet.

cl_autowepswitch "0"

Try it out and let me know if it works =) I'll try it when I get home....

And also, Puppet I think you typed it wrong, the text buy menu is:

setinfo vgui_menus "0"

one day, go in to ur steam file and uncheck the "read only" option
from your config.cfg file.

go into cz, make your changes, and exit.

go back to config.cfg file and check "read only" again.

no need for repeating binds. you want to be sure to keep ur config file
"read only" most of the time bc servers can corrupt and erase them completely and that is a beeotch to fix.
