Courtesy to our noob friends

Okay, here's the deal. A couple months back, I played the game Footmen Frenzy for the first time. My teammates both quickly discovered that it was my first time playing that game, so one of them sent his units to destroy my base, while the other tried to destroy the first ones base to try and persuade him to stop. I was destroyed quickly, and before long, the other players came in and totally obliterated what was left of my team!!
And then, I was playing WoW a few months ago, and this kid got online and publicly announced that he was a noob. All of the non-noob players started dissing him until he just logged out.
And then, just last week, I was playing DOTA for perhaps the twentieth time, and everyone else in the game automatically assumed I was a noob because I sucked at it, and they "politely" asked me to leave, except for one of my teammates, who just started attacking me.
SO WHAT if noobs aren't that great? Everyone starts out as a noob, right? Is it not the noobs who eventually grow to be the pros?
All i'm saying is that the more experienced players should show a little more courtesy to our noobish friends, who might one day give us the beating of our life when we're old and weak (figuratively speaking)

I don't think many people know the difference between them, though I also mentioned that earlier in a different thread, while I must admit that I'm not sure if the post is still there because of the down time.

but they should use newb, also, in dota.. you CAN'T attack team mate, with few exception, anyway even if you are pro you can be called noob for even small mistake, which can't ruin game in any way

Those who think they are "pro" and attack you cause they think you are noob are not only stupid, they are the suicidals who can cause your team to lose. And then they see who is the real noob...

I also agree with Metal. However, I know that in DotA some people don't even know what type of game they are playing. For instance, I play a game -dm -ar -sm. The real noobs are the ones who don't ask what the *beep* they are playing and yet they think they are amazing, when they are stupid.
Also, just cause you suck, doesn't mean you're a noob. A true noob, is an idiot. (no offense)
Personally, any idiot who kills of a teammate is a noob or a jerk. Also, I played with my friends before ever trying out games by myself, so I was never a noob :p

I think the general understanding is this:

Noob-A player who sucks, and has played before but still acts like they have never played before.
Newbie-A new player, good or bad, that is trying the game for the first time.

ok, forget about whether its their first time or not, and lets just focus on the fact that all of the guys who are really good at it discriminate against the people who aren't so good! :(
And another thing that bugs me is that the word "noob" is always the first *beeping* word that pops into their little minds. For instance, when I was playing DOTA, I found myself wondering:
"What makes this game so popular", because personally, I thought it was lame. I don't even know why I still played it.
S anyway, I voiced my thoughts, and the other players said:
"Let me guess... your a noob"
"Please leave DG (dark green)"

For crying out loud, why is that always their first friggin assumption!?!

K sorry, i'm in a bad mood right now, so I feel like takin' it out on my computer. :p

I feel that the people who act like total dumb***es are the ones that are noobs, the ones that just suck, they suck.
Too bad the common word to define a person that sucks is noob now.

I disagree. Not with your standpoint but with the last sentence. Actually if they lose, even after they killed you, they will still point the lose on you and then leave after making "insults"

I handle every game as if it were my first and I always respond friendly, for example:
"OMG YOU SUCK NOOB"
"Thank you, and please, I'm "newb""
"LOL WOW YOU SUCK EVEN MORE NOW"
"I do? Oh I'm sorry. I'll try not too"
"OMG YOUR SUCH A LOOOSER"
Player X has left the game

Ha, infact, when I used to play ladder I used to question everyone like "let's say I was a newb, what would you do" and even then, without answering, they'd leave.
I hate people who think they're better than everyone else - I beleive I already said that - but this is just another example. In my opionion it's the teams fault that you all lost, not just one person. (With exceptions of course)

-Dest :)
