CS.S Can't Connect

Okay, anyone else having this problem but me....
When I try to connect to a server, the ping jumps to 1000 then 2000, and I can never join the game. This happens for every damn server except for PuNx.

We installed a hack on your machine so you can only play at PuNx.

did u check ur steam conection to see if it was at dial up speed?

otherwise ur security settings may not like steam...

i use to have norton antivirus but i had to change it bc it kept interrupting my ping until i turned off the firewall...so it was pointless to have ...hence the new firewall im using

Well can't connect to most servers would have been more accurate. Other people have the same problem on the Steam forums, but there are no reply posts as to what causes it or how to fix it. Right now I can connect if I laucnh steam, then pick the server, then add it to my favorites and connect.
