dod source...

im not sure if anyone has even played dod source and if anyone has do they like it? well i sure as hell do...ive found myself addicted to it lately...i was wondering if punx has ppl that play dod source which i doubt...but IF, you do...then id like to join punx for dod source and be a coordinator for it? i should ask if punx has even thought of the idea of clanning in dod source...well i was just curious, i thought id drop a post and get some opinions....anyone?

i played with moneyshot last night and i had fun...he asked me about a dod:d punx server..i think it'd be fun. hold tryouts to be in the clan...i think it'd be fun and i do pretty well...i also played with engraged|Ninja so a bunch of people who play cz play dod:s also..it'd be fun as hell...

bleh punx is a clan, not necassarily a CZ clan, we are a clan not limmited to one game. however maybe creating a common tag to use or making a 'clan' for dod:S would be cool, even though i dont ahve it yet.

hey dont feel bad i can only play when i'm either over at patricks house or when i have his computer for 2 days...i just got done playing actaully...and i was kicking ass in this donner map...i was top of my team w/ 11 flag capture/assist 35 kills and 17 deaths....it was amazing...yeah i'd deff wanna try out to be in the PuNx clan for dod:s...or would it just be the same people that are members on cz?

dod is awesome, it used to be my shit. i havent played source yet, but
i can only imagine its tight.

i have never experienced a DOD scrim.... that would f'n rock !!!

I don't know if he still is, but Moneyshot has a dually PIII box that was earmarked as a DOD:S server. Perhaps we can get a Punx DOD server up and running...

the server is still sitting here, doing its best to hold up an ashtray... currently its in an antec SOHO box, but the hardware is solid, so if I could get a 2U rack case Id be more than happy to donate to the cause.
specs:

Abit vp6
2x p3 933
1gb ram
9gig scsi drive

It ran a 16 player source server fine, full of bots. I am betting it can host a 32 player DOD server if its on the proper pipe. That datacenter in VA that omni uses has some great constant ping, I would rather it be relocated there. since I have come to find omnicient is the best server admin I know I would prefer it going bare metal or base install and sent out. Since you opened your trap suxor, I will drop it off at your house, with freebsd 5.8 and proceed to let you have the fun of setting things up, and mailing it off.

I have been working too long hours, and would prefer this getting done so you are project manager.

but hey for source i think 32 player server is too many, esp for the kinda action in dod, i was thinkin 24... the less people, the better the game plays. i been in a few 32 men server and even a 40 player server, lag is horrid!
