Fuck

yeah if that happens to you you are not qualified to work in retail.

damn thats low, fast food anyone?

oh wait, thats what I do!

by the way, if anyone says "I'm just looking, thanks" you say "GREAT! what are you looking for?" we can go back and forth with Q and A but it come's down to isolationg and overcoming objections untill you actualy do your job, and close the sale.

I also think from the loks of the shop (a pawn shop) that the guy at the counter was probably an owner.

Dude..me and Andy (Indelible) used to deal with this crap 24/7. Now you see Andy why I was so Anal about the cabinets being closed. It's really how they do it too. I bet that video is from NYC. Also notice the handoff. The real thing is that these guys work together very often. The one guy is less obvious and can be used to distract you with a quick question. Then the other guy does the take. The handoff was pretty nice too since if you are suspicous you would be watching the one guy leave. That's why when guys left the store who were attempting to steal I felt like they got something somehow...

As Daddy said..the best prevention was to give 100% excellent customer service...never stop bothering them about how you can "help" them.

My last year at my store was the worst and month to month it got even more incredible. I had so much stuff stolen. I had less employees cuz I was trying to save money before I left. I was overworked too and shit was just insane. The guy that has my store now gets stuff stolen all the time. Much worse than me. He had a bunch of PSPs stolen, games, and Cell Phones too. He also had an inside job robbery where his own employees held the place up and took about 5-7k worth of shit. He found out it was them but the police felt there was not enough evidence to arrest so they got away with it. I had 2 burglaries in 10 years...they were both in my first 2 years of business when I was a n00b. One robbery cost me at least 15k and I closed the store immediately (inside job too) and the other was a wall break in from the back...they got about 8k worth of merchandise. The first one people got caught arrested and jailed however I didn't get a dime back or even a single game. I think the detectives kept them. It's a pretty corrupt system in NYC as far as I am concerned. I was never insured for any of this either. Insurance would have cost me 2-3k per year at least. So multiply that by 10 years to that and I still came out ahead.

The most amazing was when someone did an armed robbery on the store (my last couple months there). The jerk off kid came in and put his finger in his jacket and said to give him the game. He took like 8 copies of Grand Theft Auto. How stupid can you be to rob a place like that and not demand MONEY but demand a game. I sure wish I had a gun in my store to shoot that mother fucker. The employee who was at the counter fucked it up. I would have told the fuck to fuck off. Then after the guy leaves the employee waits at least 10 seconds to tell me we just got robbed...I was like WTF. I put the chase on but the guy got too much of a lead. It's bullshit. I fired the stupid fucker. Who was that Andy? I can't even remember now. Was that Dave Hensley? I didn't fire him...but I thought I fired the guy who was at the register at the time. Bah...I fired too many people in 10 years to remember them all. I can only remember like 10-15 employees out of hundreds I went through.

fucker thieves..I used to love fighting with them and chasing them off the block with my bat

I just watched this again to analyze it more.

Notice the time. 1 minute the second guy came in 30 seconds later...I am sure it was timed.

Also I didn't notice this the first time but the clerk is on the phone. I know that I used to get shit stolen when I was on the phone and it's a serious problem. They know you are distracted. I used to have to tell good customers willing to buy shit to hold on to get rung up so I could watch thieves instead. I was pretty good at forcing them out of the store though. I had a low tolerance no bullshit attitude.

In a game store we weren't that bored. My store was pretty busy with customers and when people weren't buying shit we would just play games all day.

It was all about the Worms!
