www.geocaching.com have any of you ever heard of it...or do it? I think it's my favorite thing to do...i got my first GPS this past christmas.I have a Garmin eTrex... if any of you are wondering what the fuck geocaching is...the basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the visitor is asked to do is if they get something they should try to leave something for the cache. I have one of my own...I had to take and try the coordinates 5 times to make sure that they were right... i hid one near a lake about 1.5 hours away from where i live...If your interested here is mine http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=50b0cc4a-489c-42bc-9d60-1f22f4421971 .They have land geocaches and underwater geocaches for people who scubadive and there are ones for people who cave and rock climb..it's actually really fun b/c when you find it you have to be sneaky and make sure 'muggles' dont see you when you find it...or else it could be ruined. Most of the geocaches are in big ammo boxes... There are 3 different things you can look up while geocaching... 1)Caches-those have things inside it..usualy a log to record your visit and some other stuff for you to trade take and just look at..some even have cameras to see who all have been there. 2)there are 'travel bugs' that you can find....this is what they look like.....when you find one you log it on the website and you get points for it. 3)then there's this http://jeep.geocaching.com where you look for the jeeps and if you find one you have a chance of winning one...it's really cool. well just though i'd share it with you and if you decide to try it out thats cool...if you dont have a GPS thats fine you can just use a map and compass.. well i'm heading out to go geocaching.i'll take some pics
