Getting a new graphics card -- Which one?

I'm getting a new graphics card tomorrow, but I can't decide between the two. Which one will give me better graphics, especially for HL2 and Source (and yes, I have looked on the web, but nothing shows a comparison between those two -- so --, help me out):

nvidia 6600 GT 128MB
or
nvidia 6600 256 MB

Which will be better if i upgrade to 1GB of ram, and which will be better if I leave it at 512MB or ram. I have a 2.4 ghz processor.

i have 6800 GT OC 256 on shitty mobo and it is nice.

my friend has 6600 GT OC on leet mobo and it fucking ROCKS.

but, i dont know about less ram onboard = better performance.
i would go with 256 6600 if it were me.

Memory isnt everything...you have to look at clock speeds and GT is faster than the 256 mb non-gt. Besides, 128mb is plenty for HL2. Game will run excellent on 800*600 at high or 1024*800 at medium settings.

blze the comparison isnt that one has less ram, one is a GT and one is not

im a ATI guy so im not sure which is better, given the current demands on a graphics card and some articles ive read i would bet the GT is the way to go...

I also have that 128 mb ATI 9700 pro w/tv-out

was curious what you get for fps and such.
any optimizing tips?
i run it with standard drivers and catalyst at about 120 refresh rate
