Halo: The Forerunner

Alrighty, here's a question that's been on my mind ever since I played Halo 2: Is there a possibility that the Forerunner are in fact the ancestors of humanity?

If you disagree, just look at the clues there are:
-The only ones who can use the Index to activate the rings are humans.
-All of the Halos have an environment that is similar to Earth's, such as atmosphere and weather.
-The monitor in Halo 1 seemed to think that the Master Chief knew Halo's real purpose before Cortana told him the truth.
-Perhaps most importantly, the Ark, which apparently activates all of the rings, is on Earth.


Those are pretty much the only clues I can think of for now, but I bet there are tons more. So all of you Halo fans check this out and tell me your opinions.

i agree and also in the books it says that master cheif could just tell wich button to press to open stuff n junk
also in teh very begginng movie do you see that camera thats floatingaround that looks exctly like moniter!

Hmmm... I didn't notice that, actually... is that in Halo 1 or 2?

If my hypothesis is right, then I find it somewhat ironic: The Covenant worship the ancestors of their worst enemies. ha ha ha

play the secong games and after you meet sgt johnson and right before they start the award ceremony mc goes you told me there wouldnt and right behind him is this little floating thing that looks like a a moniter thing

I used to play Halo every... uh... saturday night, as I recall with a few friends. After Ron left for France, John and Wich got their full-time job and my school became a mess, we pretty much fell apart.

I don't know much about Halo, but I definitely am not a fan of it.

I'm also not a fan, after all it's just a game. Games aren't meant to go into deep thought about, that's what real life's for.

I agree. bolth with the opinion about game stories and your halo theries.
But I belive that we are forunner tools not decendants. thus the term reclamer and not "creator"

i think halo history will repeate itself and we the forrunner/human/cool ppl will activate the rings and get on the ark because in the halo 3 trailor cortana says "this is the way the world ends" but who knows exept bungie

I agree, but it still has a good story... at least, I think so.

Uh, the gravemind, I think, is like the "father" of the flood. In Halo 2, the Arbiter calls him the Parasite, which is the same word that the Covenant uses to refer to the flood.

I bet that its kinda similar to starcraft. The Xel'Naga created the Protoss, who turned against them. Likewise, the Foerunner probably created the Gravemind, which turned against them and started spawning a bunch of little onions that ate living things and turned them into zombies, lol. That's why they decided to create the rings, both to contain their "science project gone wrong", and to destroy pretty much anything that the flood could eat.

And about Vess's opinion about humans being "tools", not "descendants".... hmmm... that does kinda make me wonder. It's possible, but I can't really bring myself to agree unless I found evidence about it. Then again, I've only found possible theories about humans being their descendants, so either one could be right. *groan*, I can't wait 'till this game comes out so I can find out what the crap is going on!

I think Cortana knows what's gonna happen in the end, cuz if you watch after the credits on Halo 2, there's a little cutscene that shows her talking with the Gravemind, who apparently knows pretty much everything. She probably found out the future, thus her saying "This is how the world ends."

I'll bet what's gonna happen is that the Master Chief will hear some thing about how it is the natural order of the universe or whatever that Halo has to be activated to destroy all living things so that the flood will eventually die as well. But then he'll be all like, "Well, I think I'll take my chances," and he'll stop the Ark from being activated, and then some war will begin between humanity, the Covenant, and the Flood, which will probably last for hundreds of thousands of years.

Either that, or the Ark will just be activated, and everyone'll die, mua ha ha.

Another thing that makes me wonder is this: Is Cortana gonna die?
Cuz in the book, it mentions how the AI's eventually pretty much overload because over time, they gather so much information that its just too much for them to handle. So either, Cortana is going to die, or, because she's a "special" AI, she'll find someway to defy that reality and keep on living.

*sigh*, I think I might be taking this game a little too seriously. lol

Cortana has been changed by the Gravemind. The Gravemind did something to here. He speaking tones now resemble that of a devil and an angel now. The Ark is a massive structure. The covanent already have control of it on earth. Mastercheif's is being lead or mislead by Cortana we dont know if she is on the side of good or bad. We also don't know what the Gravemind is a good or bad guy. My Guess is hes a bad guy possibly the leader of the flood. But at thist point my Guess is that the Gravemind is changed Cortana to get the master cheif to stop the covanent from using the Ark. What I dont know is whos good and whos bad. My bets are on Gravemind is evil even though he saved the mastercheif and everyone else.

If the Gravemind is indeed one of the flood, then the only reason he saved the Chief is obviously to use him to stop Halo from being activated, cuz when that happens, then they can kiss dinner goodbye :gruntwink2:

The humans and flood want the same thing in this case, but for different reasons. Personally, I think the Gravemind is a badguy who is trying to manipulate everyone.
