Ok, I want to start out by saying this isnt a recial slur or remark per say.

But You know what's really funny? Islamic people who burn down an embassy because they're portrayed in a cartoon as being violent.

Protesters torched the Danish embassy in Beirut because of the cartoon.

*sooooo confused at the logic of this*

It's basicly like a gay guy getting pissed he was drawn kissing a guy. Yet he goes home and pile drives bruno the pizza delivery boy every night...

Some one please explain...

umm, im only going to say, in here, is that it really makes no sense at all the way they are reacting to a silly cartoon (muslim laws or not).

protesters in any country of any religion routinely get out of countrol. i was at a rally to stop the iraq war in Toronto that got out of control.... ppl are the same everywhere u go. logic flies out the window when the masses congregate

this is an editorial from a toronto newspaper LINK

and just a quote from the article:

Still, why do Muslims react so strongly?

By now, readers know that Islam forbids depictions of the Prophet. Non-Muslims can no more mock that than Muslims can deride some aspect of the Christian or Jewish faith.

Imagery was not the only problem with the Danish cartoons. They were insulting, which is, of course, the point of a cartoon. But they also portrayed the Prophet as a terrorist and, by extension, all Muslims, thereby engendering hate against them.

The drawings were hurtful to a people who are, arguably, more attached to their prophet than others may be to theirs.

Each time they say his name, Muslims invoke "peace and blessings" on Muhammad. Nearly 4 million visit his grave in Saudi Arabia every year.
