idea: Tourney Day?

Hey guys i got this idea for a tournament day or something. It goes something like this, we would group all the regulars together and set some captains. The captains would chose a team from the regs (like a draft) and we would hold a tourney for the day.

will it work? will ppl come? am i a perv?

So you're saying two captains would be picked and then they would pick two teams and then you would have tournaments all day? I think it would be fun for the regulars but there are some things that would dampen it for you.

1) Most people are in and out and seldom stay for real long periods, never mind all day.

2) There will be people that see the server and join and don't know anything about your tournament and would screw things up for you.

3) Picking teams would need coordination to prevent one captain from grabbing all the sharp shooters and thereby stacking it.

well i was actually thinking like 4-6 teams of five players each. and yah you're rite nobody would be available for an all day tourney... How bout if it was spread over a couple of weeks with games only on weekends or something (password protected on lo3 scrim server?) ....

as for picking teams, i was thinking maybe have ppl sign up in the forums, and then hold a draft as a forum topic with the captain's posting only, one by one.

the main idea was that we got a bunch of regulars here and just adding some competetion other than just pickup games would be a welcome change (for me atleast).

i used to play a server that did tourneys like this all the time. yes you have captains and shit, but the home clan(in this case Punx) would be the ones that put ppl on teams, including setting up the captains.

it is a lot of fun. and hell, we could probably have the tourney in the Lo3 server if punx didn't want to shut their doors for the day.
