i have seen many clan requires teamview and vent, i kno they are service so you can talk with a mic over online games, but you for vent you have to pay or only the leader need to pay. for teamview can you use the free edition?

Vent clans are one of the best clans since they have great comminucation

Ventrilo is the best... it has better codecs, thus sounds better.

Skype is a joke and TS sounds like shit.

Not everyone has access to vent servers, and TS sounds fine, for me anyway.

skype is great because you don't have to dish out money to run a basic conference call. I never use it for clan work, but it works very well for when my friends and I get a 5 man dota group running.

While vent does sound a bit better, I'm just used to the old TS interface. Last time I used it though was a couple years ago, when mics being used online wasn't nearly so common (when high speed internet started to take over as being the standard).

I guess it really boils down to preference
