But even if the full 14 billion was approved, it does not take away from the state and city officials once again adding to the problem: much of the run-off areas (swamps and marshes) were drained and reclaimed to be sold as real estate----thereby making New Orleans a pushover for Katrina. I'm not defending Bush, although it may sound like it. I just want it known what these jackasses did down there (when they already knew they couldnt withstand a category 3) and that they should NOT be trusted to make further judgments on how to make "civic improvements". Too much money is going to funnel through New Orleans in coming months and anyone (Bush, inept Louisiana state officials, corrupt and incompetent NO officials) who has already fucked up should not be involved. We're just getting barked at by the oil companies now, the bite is coming later.</p></blockquote><p></p>
