It is basically a live chat room...
If you idle then you can see a conversation and talk about it... unless you like to hear about it weeks or months later.
In the aspect of scrimming it helps to know where everyone is and then others come in and ask "Hey dude... wanna scrim?"
Just like in AIM if you dont wanna talk to them just dont answer them.
It shows support too by sitting there and talking. In aim/yahoo you used to not be able to easly have a chat room... Now it is real simple... But this is the origional method...
You can idle as many or as few rooms as you want to.
Sometimes we have interesting inforative conversations. Kinda like saying...
"Hey my USB headset is not working..."
In a forum you would get a lot of people reading it but not answering it.. In an IRC all those in the room a tthe time read it all at once.. You might get different ideas and answers. Or you might get billy asking you if you can score some weed.
Thats all...
Mainly you can come in and say "IM SICK OF THIS" and you will get a few quick answers "awwww" or "STFU live with it."
