I've switched off on WiiConnect24

i am assuming you have a wireless router
go to page 59 in your wii manual and it tells you how set up your wiiconnect24. its quite easy....

Some people seem to think so but I've had no problems as of yet...

It's not that it's just that it keeps your Wii on and heats it up...

I heard it only happens to wiis laying sideways. The cooling system doesn't work quite properly then.

yea because my wiiconnect24 is always on and my system never heats up

i don't use it, it just makes the wii overheat.
