Message: <blockquote data-quote="rocklee" data-source="post: 140239" data-attributes="member: 7829"><p>I could see why it would stop it.  If he overwrote files and change the CRC on them, and those files no longer corresponds to whats in the registry, it won't recognize it and the system will stall.  Also those .inf files which tell the system the driver and device information can accidently overwrite other OEM files.  The system caches from these OEM files.  I know, I've done it before.  I had to completely reinstall the system.  It was during my High School days and I didn't know what I was doing and thought you can just plop drivers into the win32 or system32 folder and expect the smart OS to pick it up and know what to do with it.</p></blockquote><p></p>
