Why is there no point in it? I could assume things, but then I would come to the same conclusion that coming to a forum has "no point" either.
Yet it happens quite often that a relationship comes forth out of it. The Dutch chat (and music) channel, TMF (The Music Factory, one of the three music channels out here) seems to be hooking up people quite nicely, especially after hearing the stories about it.
Only a while ago, someone called the radio DJ, Barry Paf, to inform him (and his listeners) that someone was getting married with someone who he met through that chat. You could say it is just an exception, but (well, the marriage doesn't really happen every day) the hooking up is nearly a daily event.
As for myself, my current relationship is by someone I mostly met online. We met once at her hometown, (city, one of the biggest cities out here
) and a little later I got her email. We were... quite active on MSN. But that's a different story. ^^
Back in the earlier days, just signing on in a chatroom could be used just for fun as well. ^^ And that still happens. If that wasn't the case, then I met a lot of unfaithful girls - mind you, I only chat with girls in a private conversation.
Though the "I'm pregnant" reaction of someone did become famous in my book.
The average age of the Blizzard channels is a tad too low for me. MSN is my all-time favorite, and normally, I'm online just about always when at home. Just not... lately.
