People lacking courage to post?

Just a little observation: Each time, whenever i come up, i can see at least 6 guests lurking through the forums and noone posting at all. We need a way to encourage people to register. I check these forums every day so i'd love some more action in.

any suggestions? i don't really know what will attract people. i think the main reason i like it here is no trolls or other bad stuff happens here.

apparently new users isn't the problem, it's getting them to post. i do prefer this site over wc3sear.ch/The Hive, what ever it is now.

Preferring a site over the other might be fun and all, Xeridanus, but if one of the sites is dying out, there's not much about preferrence.

Never liked Wc3sear.ch though...

Hey look it's me, back from the dead (ok I just had to make the joke...my name is Undead_Lives, get it?)

So, posting. I see there's not a lot of it going around. I have to say I'm not surprised. There are several reasons why wc3 is dying, newer games, over populated Dota gamers, etc...but one reason you might not have thought of is age. The good ol' mappers are growing up and moving on to new games (or better yet) real life. I'm working full time, so that applies to me.

I used to, like Flad, come to this forum for conversation. Not much of it going around, so I don't come here often. If you get a debate going I'll be right in the middle of it though : P

In closing, I wish you all the best of luck, including you Arkidas, Flad, and all the guys from the good ol' days. I probably won't be here very often, so might as well say goodbye.

(Sorry, trailed off topic at the end, but hey what else is new? XD)

I was out for 2 weeks(holiday time after all) so i also haven't been for a while here. At least new posts counted up after i'm back(and again off-topic, but that's the whole section's name).

That makes two of us, although I can easily find myself in the explanation you gave. Especially when it comes to work. Despite that I absolutely love my job, I am working way too much even though I should be getting some rest. But that's probably the case for a lot of people, like you said. People tend to work.

I still have a couple of other forums for debate, one which is in particular very interesting although it's been a few months ago since I made a post. But for the real conversations, I am not really hanging around on forums too much anymore...

Yeah, well, couldn't get any less...

Real life has its good parts. If you can't find them: make them.

But as you said, the old guys are leaving. We're getting old... or at least, I am getting old.

I am hoping that the new owner has some plans to promote the site, the reason I abandoned it was that I don't have time to take care of it anymore. Please peek in now and then to see if he has done something, you never know :). After all he is an experienced site manager.
