Then explain more how do they get your screen shots and what is the file thing he was talking about

the new reporting system is not based on screenshots at all. Its based on Nexon scanning your Combat Arms folder and searching for any sort of altered files. The way the most basic hacks work is by either adding an additional file to the folder, or altering an existing file.

So for example: File A is the texture file for boxes on Junk Flea. A hacker comes into the file and rewrites it so the textures are all clear (see through). Said hacker can now see through all boxes. Hacker gets reported, nexon sees that this file is altered and bans the player.

Why are there still hackers in CA? Simple, the hacks have gotten more advanced. They either A) (more likely) have incorporated a program which blocks nexon's scan attempt or fools the scan attempt into reading the folder as normal, or B) (more costly) stream the hack from a second server, which nexon cannot detect.

Make sense?

Taking screenshots is no longer necessary in most cases, but I would certainly help if you do a follow up report on Nexon's website. You would have to have a clear, undeniable screenshot in order for them to catch em

Would you get in trouble for changing the gore setting from 0 (no blood) to 1 (with blood)?

Like I know it's not hacking, but this is Nexon after all. Can't be too careful.

you can also report hackers/glitchers when you are in the game. They added this in the last patch. Hit the ESC key... then click on report, pulls a list of everyone in the room, click the name and write a short description of whats going on.

thats done in your options menu. They won't ban you for using a feature they intentionally added

Nah I should have explained it better. What I mean is like how you can open up the profile, which is in your Nexon folder. In there you can screw with the settings of the game. Since you apparently need to be 18 or older to get the blood (gore) effect you can get into there and edit the gore setting.

I wouldn't recommend doing this for a number of reasons. One you might accidentally add an additional line by accident which can affect game play in ways you wouldn't expect ( I learned this the hard way from doing some minor modding on the Mount and Blade Engine, completely changed half the weapons in the game into armor and visa versa. That was a headache), but I'm not sure how susceptible the CA engine is to this.

and Secondly, I'm not sure how much of a hard ass Nexon is on this kind of deal. In CS and DoD (classic mostly, although this still goes on in source), theres a huge debate on the legitimacy of changing settings like this. There are basic things like gore, but its gotten a bit out of hand. If I don't have my customized config file for that game, I don't play the same (latency rates, turn rates, fps rates have all be modified and much much more. DoD is a classic example of how the default files are poorly done). CA's in-game configuration isn't very advanced, but its acceptable and I would just recommend making all your changes through that
