SCAR-L... why?

I've noticed that the MK16 SCAR-L assault rifle is a relatively popular weapon. My question is: Why? As far as I can tell, the K2 assault rifle is the exact same thing, but with a better rate of fire. Is there something I'm missing?

I went to the Nexon Site to compare them, and the K2 just seems better. I've tried them both out, and the K2 seems a lot easier to handle, even though they appear to have the same recoil.

Is there something I don't know? Why do people use the SCAR over the K2?

I am one of those scar users that you see. Never tried the k2 so I cant tell you the difference. With the scar, it does have low recoil and great accuracy. I can shoot most down long distance with no trouble at all. Downside is not great for close quarters.

yea same, i havent tried k2. the scar is a good weapon and is just the stronger version of the famas. the scar is good in closer ranges. ill try the k2 2morrow and give you info on that.

The K2 is an AR version of the SMG K1. I haven't really tried out the K2 so I don't really know which one is better. But I can say they are very simliar in all fields of weapon specs.

I agree with Spartanz... It is by far my favorite weapon. I haven't tried them all but I did try the G36e and I liked it but the SCAR is better IMO.

I like to add the scope, silencer, and extended mag. You can hit people far way, do a lot of damage up close and in a firefight with most weapons, have more ammo.

I'm one of those Scar L users aswell. I tried the k2 and i didn't like it because of how it looked and the sound of the gun. And also i agree with everything Spartanz said aswell.

The best thing about the scar is its accuracy you can sit on the other side of the map and own enemys

nah the K2 is way better than the scar it just loooks different... i almost prefer the k2 over the g36, and ump

K2 and SCAR are both nice weapons... I recently did a comparison and found out the following:

1. The in-game stats do indeed imply that the K2 is always superior, but the in-game stats are crap. The SCAR in full auto owns the K2 in full auto. Also, look at the crosshairs while strafing - the K2's hairs are well outside the brackets, and the SCAR's are inside of them. Big difference.
2. However the K2 in single shot is much more accurate than the SCAR. It's almost sniperlike. Single-shot can also fire pretty quick, so you just adjust your finger-taps for the combat situation.
3. The SCAR is fun to use: if you are scoped in and kneeling, you can just keep the dot on the enemy and full-auto him to death at medium range. Doing so while strafing is only a little more difficult.

In short, the K2 can be an extraordinary weapon at longer ranges than the SCAR can reasonably handle(It kills better than the M14 at range, no lie), whereas at medium range the SCAR is easy to get kills with and friendly to use. They both have the same med-low power per shot.

Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. I tried all of the AR and played with the K2 myself for A LONG TIME. It has low recoil, extremely accurate over long ranges, and is also dependable in close quarter fire-fights. Great rifle. I, however, currently settled on the G36. Just about the same same rifle, with a little more recoil unfortunately.

For me, Scar L is better than the K2. I don't know why, I don't bother to take a look at the specs, but when I tried them, I like the Scar L better. It's easy to handle (very easy), has great accuracy, and has a considerable amount of damage. HOWEVER, I still like the M4A1 better, and if you are SCAR L fans, you might want to try the M4.
