Some help maybe?

I just bought a new headset....Altec Lansing AHS502i and the fucking mic won't work. Is there something I have to do or just return?

if you "just bought it" in the last week? take it back to the retailer, if its over 30 days you probably have to ship it to the MFG yourself. My wife works retail, and general rule of thumb is 30 days, but some will take it back up to 1 year with the recipt.

This is going to sound like i'm talking down to you but I'm not.

Does the headset have two connections? One for the speaker and one for the Mic?

If not then it's not going to work at all.

Check your sound options and make sure your mic isn't muted. Same for your game options.

Also sometime you have to configure your mic. I think that is auto detected now though.
