Suppressors?

I really don't get the suppressor's stats. I know what they do but I have one question. When you're choosing S1 it takes away damage, recoil, and sound. When you have S2 takes away tracer, noise, and damage. Does it also reduce recoil? I'm not sure. If you had a suppressor people usually buy it for recoil and noise. When you take away recoil doesn't defeat one of its purposes? Can someone please explain.

The suppressors vary in their stats. some reduce muzzle flash, other reduce recoil and of course they reduce the noise made when shooting.
