Surf maps

I was just curious if anyone here has played a surf_"map name" map before. I played a couple last night and had no idea what was going on. These guys would jump out of this tower then kind of surf this really long down hill slope, then fly to anohter one and so on. Everytime I treid I just fell and died....noone would talk and when I asked wtf was going on I only got silence or a stfu. Anyone know what this is all about?
