Ok guys, my dad is having an issue with ebay and his pc.

When he goes to run an activeX control from ebay to mass upload pictures, the damn thing locks up.

Its running windows 2000 fully updated, so im not sure what the issue could be im just tyring to fix this cause hes bitching a storm at me bout it.

No firewalls, or any lockign software, so nothing to get in the way.

Ill take any advice.

Go to start, then click RUN, then enter DXDIAG and click OK. After it loads go to the DirectX files tab and make sure it says "No problems found". Now if you go to the remaining tabs you will find there is a test for each module of your DirectX. If you get errors then post them here and we'll do what we can to help.

...

Again this is windows 2k, so in IE there is no tab that i can see regaurding any activeX controlls.

Also, Thsi is active X im talking about, not DirectX, now i dont know the difference between the two but im assuming do hence you brought up the DXDIAg.exe

But I did run that, and there was no errors found.

So its bak to Square 1

Thanks

I'll ask one of the r&d guys while I'm at work today. I know one of the other co-ops knows how to write activeX controllers so he might know what's up

So his guess is that there is some sort of bug involving 2000 and Ebay and it's not exactly something that gets "fixed" per se. Check with Ebay's support team if you haven't already. I've heard they are pretty good with this kind of stuff.

id try another browser. try installing firefox or opera and see if it works in those perhaps?

ive had activex problems before and a different browser generally fixes it
