linux is free, 64 bit, and probably more stable if used correectly

Oki, so I am assuming from what everyone says Linux is better. Is there a site where I can download it. Also is there a site where I can find programs that are compatible with it. Thanks for the help in advance.

well... do you plan on CZ/CSS from it ?
if the answar is yes then windows
if the answar is no linux
tons of sites out there to dl
do some research on
www.linux.com
or
www.linux.org
or
www.linuxjournal.com
or
tons of resourcses out there for you to make the determination by yourself

i will not deny that you can run CZ/CSS from a linux box but the product which is used is a program called
WINE (Windows Imulator)
but its not an exact science
or better yet if you have XP
you could pick up VMWare
or windows new thing free
Virtual Server 2005 R2 Enterprise Edition
and test out linux on a windows box

it depends, if you want to devote yourself to learning how to use linux, it's more stable and you can do more things with it. It you want a box that's "Plug and run" so to speak stay with windows.

Your going to need to definately teach yourself linux. It does have a GUI but the commands are completely different. If I were you I would stick with XP unless you do some major coding/server/pc tech stuff. If you dont find a copy of linux I'll try to find mine. I'm not sure if I brought it with me or left it in NC. When I used linux I dual booted and used 1 HD for linux and the other 1 for windows 98 (at the time) this way you can still have both op systems and you wont be limited as much or confused.
