It is a derogatory word against a particular group of people because of the color of their skin. Your sense of not caring is because you have no negative history with the word. I feel the same way as I really don't care being called a cracka (In fact I find the term hilarious). But I'm also not black...I don't have the history of feeling like I cannot go anywhere in life because of the color of my skin. Unfortunately the "N" word has been used (and still used) to demoralize and downgrade people.Also there are words for the British and spainards. Each with their own history.You cannot look past history. It is our history that helps teach us. Unfortunately most of us don't look at our own history to help better our future.</blockquote>
