This game was revolutionary, before this game, the regular shooter would have you storm in and kill them before they kill you, coz' they're bad.

MG gave a backstory and put the concept of stealth into a Video Game.

Metal Gear was the first game in the series. However it was Snake's Revenge that got the series going. Without Snake's Revenge there would not have been a series and it would have started and ended with Metal Gear.
