The Wii comes with composite cables as standard. You can buy component cables for use mainly with HD televisions, but I believe they give a much improved picture on SD televisions as well. There's also RGB SCART which gives you a result about halfway between the two.

yeah, component is still only 480 so not high def but honestly, its very clear and bright when you use it. I've got my DVD player hooked up through it and i noticed quite a difference right away, so naturally seeing a nicely layered game like Metroid or Zelda is something I've had dreams about lol
