I dunno, there's something aesthetically pleasing to me. I prefer this to that joystick mount that I saw earlier. If anything, this'll make pistol-whipping feel much more realistic.

I think this would be good if someone made a druming game were you would need wireless in both hands....you could just use another wii remote though.... haha

Yes it is. Future Shop here in Canada only has it for 14.99. I think it's worth it, tbh. I could see it going down to 9.99 even at which point, it would be almost a steal.
