I read the whole thing, just for you!
It was pretty good. You seemed to skip over a lot of good chances for descriptive detail, but you backed up the story with solid plot and character development. There were a few odd parts though, like when your guys stumble on the burned village by what seemed like pure chance.
If I was a judge, I'd give you

Yes, as you can tell, it was a bit rushed. But I really wanted to FINISH it, and not miss entering in the contest.
