Pc software that lets you record and edit sound

Does anybody know of any PC software that lets me record my voice through microphone and then edit it.

I used to use a program called Cool Edit which was very good. It was the main audio software used in my brothers Radio Broadcasting course. You can do pretty much anything with it. Its not free though

Yeah i recommend Audacity i use it all the time. If you want a professional sound editing software, which costs a bit, use fl studio 8
