Warcraft 3 Anvil Contest (Official)

This is going to be a spell making-iconing contest. In order to participate at the contest, you need to have knowledge in one of these areas (or even both).

Basic Rules
You are given four concept arts (I claim no copyright upon them, I googled them, and you are not to steal them. I am using them for the sake of this contest, and nothing else!). From each you are to identify ONE spell (you may interpret and explain how you interpreted that spell) and depending on the category in which you will enter, either implement that spell into Warcraft 3, or/and make an icon for it. Give the spell a name!

Note: You are to make a total of four spells, hero or non-hero spells, that?s up to you.

2. Categories
Spell making Solo ? You are going to work on your own, and participate strictly at the spell making part.
Iconing Solo ? You are going to work on your own, and participate strictly at the iconing part.
Spell making and Iconing Team ? You are to participate as a team of two members, into this category. You are to organize the team in such a matter that both of you take care, (together) of both the categories. If both of you have knowledge in both spell making and iconing, that?s great!

Note: You cannot compete in both team category and solo category. However, you may compete in both solo categories, or only into one of them.

3. Score
Spells (70/70)
Coding ? 25 Points ? Probably the most important part of your spell. If the code doesn?t cause any lag (I am not interested in leaks as long as they are not significant but I will heavily test the spells so maybe you should take them in consideration as well) and it is not stupid (try to keep it clean, for example instead of writing the same piece of code ten times use a FOR/loop) it should be OK. JASS codes won?t receive more points than GUI, but GUI->JASS conversions with no modifications will be penalized. Make your code either GUI, either JASS, no hybrids.
Eye-Candy ? 20 Points ? Does your spell look good? Make swirling effects here and there (custom models count, as you will see below) and make sure they are original (so not only plain spirals, circles or pentagrams). Eye Candy originality is separate from spell effect?s originality.
Originality ? 15 Points ? I am interested if the spell is original. If it wasn?t seen before, and is something unique, you will receive heavy points for it.
Implement ability ? 10 Points ? Give instructions so that others know how to import the spell into their map. Mention each and every object which needs to be copied, every piece of code, and maybe add comments across the code so that the spell can be easily modified and implemented (aka change abilities, units, etc.). For JASS users, I suggest you make functions which return raw codes, so the user only needs to change a single raw code in a single place. Do not go over this, because it can give you a lot of points!

Icons
General Aspect ? 25 points ? The icon should have a good general lightning (not too dark, not too bright), should be Warcraft 3 Icon (add both BTN and DISBTN versions and make sure it has a border). The icon should not be detailed, but neither should it lack details. Avoid blurriness or excessive lightning. Colors should not too strong or too faint. In a single word: Balance!
Originality ? 15 points ? Once again, I am interested in the original aspect of the icon as well. I have seen a lot of hands from which come rays of light, or eyes which shine, etc. It doesn?t mean that such icons may not be original. I am sure you could make such an original icon as well. Just try to make it as original as possible, yet keep it in a warcraft style.
Message ? 20 points ? Yes, as strange as it may sound, your icon should mean something. People tend to make icons full of filters just because they are easier to do, but they are far too abstract and do not mean anything. The icon should represent the spell one way or another. Of course, there are a few filters icons which I really liked (one made by myself, highly appreciated in fact) and I?m not saying not to add some filter effects in the icon, but try to combine it with something? less abstract.
Technique ? 10 points ? I will carefully watch some technical elements here and there, such as shading, how you smudged, what effects you applied, etc. If I found a bug here and there in your techniques (such as excessive smudging) I will down rate you here. Lack of techniques (just two filters and we are done) may be also down rated, depending on the result of the icon. If the filters are intelligently combined, then it?s OK.

The final score for each competitor (or team) will be per category (read the category rules to see to how many you can enter). For each spell/icon you will receive a score. Then I make a sum of the four scores, and divide it to 4. And that?s your final score!

3. Auxiliary Rules
You are allowed to use custom models in order to add additional effects to the spells and make them look greater. Yes, you will be judged on that. The only problem is getting the acceptance of the author of the model. You are to mention the author of each single model. If it is you, that?s great, but it doesn?t make difference if you made the model, or you took it from someone else. This is an iconing+spell making contest.

No imported sounds are allowed, because of copyright issues.

You are not allowed to use any other editor but the normal WE (provided by Blizzard).
You are not allowed to use any systems except Kattana?s Handler Vars or Vexorian?s CSCache (you are not to use Vexorian?s entire caster system, because it would simplify things far too much for you), unless you are the creator of that system.
Under no circumstances are you to copy code from some other author (aka stealing). Inspiring is obviously allowed, but do not copy. And do not take this rule as ?ha ha, you won?t catch me anyway?. Be fair to the other contestants, not only to me!

You are not to copy-paste your icon (either from another icon, screenshot, image, movie etc) because that is not really an icon done by yourself. Try your best in doing something original.
Do not just post slightly recolored icons or combined icons. You may do combination from different images, but make sure you have your contribution as well. There is a limit of 50% copy-pasting in your icon, and minor modifications (such as mirroring, erasing and blending). The rest is up to you!

Limits
Your map should not exceed 300 KB of imported material and you cannot import more than 10 objects (import manager!!!).

You are to begin the icons/spells from this point! It?s a little obvious to be that way, since you base them off some concept arts, and so, you are somehow restricted. However, if by any means you already have a spell done (and submitted somewhere) and which would fit a concept art, make another one. I kinda know spells here and there, but as I was saying before, I hope you?ll be honest with me and the other competitors! This contest is for fun after all.

*suggests increasing the deadline because people won't be able to finish the spells in half a month and a little longer. I suggest 1 may as a deadline.
