Jessica: fill me in, what kind of virus, how would I get rid of it?

Fladian: Maybe it is, maybe it's not a virus, but better safe than sorry eh?

Arkidas: What are specs? o.0

Undead: I know technically what it is..but I check the memory and I have..Free Space: 102 GB Total Size: 143 GB, that's why, it doesn't seem like that would actually be a problem, you know?

Raiju: I bet my dad knows the interior, but he doesn't know what it is, though I'll have him check it.

Xeridanus: Umm...That's A LOT of work. But thanks anyways :p

MORE INFO!
The error happened while I was working on a map in WE.
The buzzing noise happens EVERYTIME I open a program (Like WC3) but not like Internet Explorer. THough the buzzing does start when I open MY Computer (It stops after a while again)'

PS. I don't have a clue about all this computer stuff, so try to keep the vocabulary down a little :)

WorldEditor uses far more memory than it really needs, its basically like, what do you want open, World Editor or every other program?

Back in the time I used the Editor a lot, I always had a lot of stuff open. Only in the time when I was watching a movie and trying to do stuff in the Editor I got some serious problems. Besides that, everything went quite well.

Yet it is true. It takes an unlogical amount of memory, but I never really encountered any serious problems with it.

System:
Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

Manufactured and supported by:
Compaq
Presario
AMD Athlon™ XP 3000+
2.17 GHz, 512 MB of RAM

------------------------
Is that what you wanted?
------------------------

I have NEVER gotten errors with WE before, this is my first time. I just know that I had Limewire (a music program) and WE open, I mean I know they could take up a lot of memory or somehting like that, but cause a 'serious system error' ? I don't know.
My dad just said "Looks like your hard drive going in for a sooner than later death" The real information I want is information that either can solve this problem, though I doubt you ghuys would nkow, seeing whereas Microsoft still hasn't responded to yet...Or information how to prevent this in the future.

Thanks,
Destruction.

aha limewire i have that too and sometimes if ur security doesn't catch a program that can bypass from sharing etc... u can get the Alcanvirus and or many smaller 1's it's happend to me before it happend to me 2 day's ago accully. Just get rid of limewire if that is causeing ur problem my mcafee security can delete anything that is really gonna hurt my cpu. So i really don't have to worry about that Also limewire take's up i think about like 70,000 memory when it's running so u need a pretty good computer to do both at the same exact time.

well hunter i do know like i said before im a lil higher than microsoft at a cpu lvl of knowledge i can fix your problems.

Hunter_Destruction just mentioned that the problem has been fixed. The problem was apparently related to the CD-Rom, "Now instead of a 2002 drive I have a 2001 drive." But for a more detailed answer, you will have to wait for the comments of Hunter himself.
I am posting this on his behalf because he apparently doesn't have access to the Anvil site. Or in other words, he is unable to post on the forums.

Therefore, this thread is of no real use any longer. But of course, I will let Hunter make his own comments on it when he has regained his access to the site, which won't take too long, I assume.

Yeah, my CD Drive was making the buzzing noise so me and my dad exchanged it with an older model. Anyways, I think I added rep to everyone anyways, if I didn't tell me.

Thanks Fladian for 'prewarning' everyone ;)

And yes Anvil sometimes stops working for me. I discussed htis matter with Arkidas before and well three is little I will/can do.

Um, notice if you will, that you cannot close the topic?
And you just revived it. For no reason other than (asking?) wanting it to be closed. I suggest next time doing this with a PM to Flad since there is no Off-topic mod.

Jessica, do something like that again and I won't act so nicely anymore. I've just about had it now. There was no need to post something like that.

-Closed.
