but what I want to know is if ca needs sp2 to run?

Which service pack are you running? I'm not sure but service pack 1 might be outdated for CA to run properly. As Love said, Google it to get further conformation.

Ok, I tried everything listed. Apparently, HShield or HSupdate isn't installed on my computer. It runs when I start up the program but then I get the Blue Screen of Death telling me that my computer crashed. I'm running it as Admin, changed the settings, even tried running it on XP Compatibility. I'm at a dead end guys. What do I do?

Are you running Vista? If so, you should be able to run it since the requirements for Vista pass the requirements for CA. If all goes wrong, you could always try installed Windows XP and using CA on that.
