Nah, mine doesn't. It doesn't get hot till it's been on for about a month (Wiiconnect24 I mean)

I don't think theres have been any accidents so long by over heated wii's.

when i first got my Wii it would get really hot and then shut down, so i called the Wii help ppl and they told me to make sure i was not blocking the fan so i moved it and it still did that, so i called them again and they sent a new Wii and now it does not get hot at all, unless i leave it on for like 1-2 days
