Man i just got a new moitor for my new comp, and i decided, hey why not use my old one too ^^ so i hooked them up and im runnin on 2 monitors now, i say it really helps on map so you dont need to switch between stuff and easy to use one screen for editor and other for testng and other stuff

I've always wanted to do that, I've never had the money or space for it though. Sounds like its working out nicely for you though, good to hear.

nah im not rich... lol 17" CRT on left 19" LCD on right[/b]
If you've got an LCD you're rich in my books...
Anyways, I don't really think this is necessary, I'd probably never take full advantage of it just becaues I'm lazy and stubborn :p

A lot of people I know do the same thing. Though I would like to do it as well, I'm not exactly sure where I should place my other monitor. :p

My LCD monitor costed 1350 zl = 450$. It aint really expensive to me... Though i replaced my monitor cause the old one broke. And i think that i would have no use for another monitor hooked up to my comp, unless in a game with doublescreen. :p

For me its TERRIBLY MUCH, by cash you spent on your monitor I could multiple my PC's parameters two times :p

I'm an owner of Samsung CRT 17", it is enough for me. I have it for quite long time, and I won't replace it with any LCD in any near future, mostly because:
* they're still expensive
* in case I have old graphic card, I run games in lower resolutions (800x600 instead of standard for my monitor 1024x768). With 17" LCD the picture will be scaled to 1024x768 and in effect it will lose quality
* they suck (dead pixels, low vision degree - you must sit in front of monitor)
* after years of experience my eyes don't see the difference between LCD and CRT, they just don't get tired

So why should I buy something more expensive and less economic, useful?

and too nooby, i understand what u mean, but my old Samsung is a 17" and about 4-5 years old... its crappy image, and the monitor i replaced it with is fanstastic compared to it, but i agree in alot of ways CRT > LCD :p

Ya I still got a CRT...for the same reasons that nooby mentioned.
Wait do LCD's still have that crappy refresh rate?
[/b]

Horizontal Fresh Rate 30k-86k Hz
Vertical Fresh Rate 50-85 Hz

those crappy? idk :S
