gun stolen

hey guys, I need to vent and here seems to be the only place where I feel people listen:

I had my pistol, a ruger P90DC, stolen out of my house yesterday when I was at work. I have figured out after a dozen phone calls, that no one cares but me. The thieves live a block away, but the police informed me that I am the problem because the gun was not locked up. I consider a house with locked doors ample to cover that. It turns out the perpratrators live a block away, and when my neighbors called in a burgluray in progress @ 3 in the afternoon yesterday, the cops took 10-15 minutes to respond. The police never contacted me and found out that is not "policy" They stole my gun and I have no recourse.

keep posted...

fuck this shit.

DAMN! That really sucks. If the gun is registered to you and they stole it...wouldn't that prove they broke into your house? It's a comforting feeling knowing that a registered gun can get stolen and nothing is done about it. NICE!

delli, CS is a nice side step to my daily issues dude. I have an AK coming in to assist in "home defense" and since I run print things I have decided to run a couple thousand leaftlets to let blow around the neighborhood. I am a man of principle and I am not going to let this drop. I dont give a fuck that I live in a bad neighborhood, I was sluffed off, and an ex-professor friend of mine was threatened by dealers last week about her getting involved with dealings on the street.

I found a level 2 network specialist job in Iraq. Its pretty bad I consider that a step up currently. This is the first media outlet I have hit. By monday if things arent going to my satisfaction then I am going to make everything worse.

na here is an update, I just spoke to the mobile crime lab unit. they are considering this a burgulary so "its not a big deal". My neighbors dont want to give out names because they are scared to speak since they live here too. I have a handful of names listed in my pocket of who broke into my house provided by sources who are "in the know".

Amazing 15 minutes of conversation, getting no where. I was told yesterday that pittsburgh is not "CSI" by the person answering the phone scheduling the crime lab. I countered back by asking why it took them 10-15 minutes to respond to a burgulary in progress at THREE IN THE AFTERNOON. Christ I live in a bad area but 3PM is hardly ghetto shootout time. I also asked why no paperwork on that incident was filed. No answers worth noting @ this point.

I am more amazed the more pesons that I talk to. They really dont want to find my gun, or get it off the streets. From what I was told about manning and staffing they pretty much do the minimum they can to get by and still be considered doing their job.

Found a job posting for a lvl 1 tech in Iraq by kbr. I am going to spend time writing out and updating my resume today. I made mention to peoples that at this that I would feel safer working in Iraq then living as I do now.

I probably don't know the whole story. Anyway, you only mentioned the ruger. That implies they knew you had one and they were seeking it out. If that's true, I'd be watching out for some of the people you told and showed where you keep it. I'm a little concerned for your family because if they are brazen enough to B&E at 3 in the afternoon, what else are they willing to do if they see their names being distributed around on fliers? I know you're pissed, but if you plan revenge then I would get the pistol replaced asap. The Iraq job probably pays pretty good. Might even be interesting. I know a lot of times jobs like that include free housing and utilities. We'd miss you.

To answer your question Hypnos, yes PittsburgH (the random H at the end) can be that bad. I work by Moneyshot and he's right, it's a bad area but still that's bullshit for the cops to pull. This is why streets are not safe because the police are to fucking scared to do anything and half of them are dirty.

1:05 forensics arrive, 1:15 they departed. The guy took the time to show me a good print vs what I had on my medicine cabinet (I noticed them on the corner before they arrived).

Overall they were satisfactory in doing what I asked, but not helpful in providing insight. It was obvious to me that they were just there to quiet me down. If they were auctually interested they would have responded sooner then 24 hours to after my initial report. Or 48 hours if you want to consider they knew my house was burgularized without notifying me.

...

Puppet is on to something in his above post..

First off, B&E at 3PM? Who does this? Stupid people do, Kids do, VERY malicious people do, Someone who had planned this out. people who know you, or know of you, where you would have been(im assuming working?) at the time.

PLUS, they take just the gun and nothing else?
Whoever took it is a Coveter, What do you Covet? You Covet what you see, everyday. This person wanted a gun.
Excusing the extremely rare random and accidental robbery, that hints at motive, who knew you had the gun? who liked it? People dont just B&E and run to where you keep your gun hidden and leave, people B&E and take EVERYTHING. Not just a pistol, which hints at someone REALLY DUMB, a intrigued kid who thought its be cool to sneak in a house, or someone with a purpose.

Did your neighbors know you had it? They have a good cover saying they reported the burglary but hey, it coulda been them, exactly how long would it take for them to do it?

There is alot of angles to look at here money, and I know you probably have loked at them all im just trying to help.

buy a gun safe, or lockbox you can mount to the floor or wall studs. Just under the insurance deductable I imagine too.

Its a shame that another gun is in the wrong hands. :(

I say make carrying a gun mandatory (except in school, courts, ect) every man wonam and child sould be armed and ready to kill each other at the drop of a hat. plastic surgeons will offer built in body armor, and spandex will come with or without kevlar

right after that Im gona submit a bill into Congress that requires all cars to be made from NERF and having open conatiners is mandatory for everyone over 19 while driving.
