Okay so the new nVidia card is out today, the GeForce 7800 GTX.

Here is a quote in summary from [H]ardOCP's preview:
"The entire gameplay evaluation summary can actually be summed up simply by saying that the GeForce 7800 GTX is “really freaking fast.†While that statement may lack eloquence, it does sum up the GeForce 7800 GTX quite nicely."

BTW, if you don't think it's that much faster, make sure you look at the quality settings the 7800 is set to compared to the 6800 and the 850.

Yeah. I heard about the new nvidia card too; more than 16 pipelines. I think in the next year we will see some pwning line of GPUs. One reason might the introduction of PS3 and XBOX360[ ATI gpu- 48 Pipelines] have insane gpus.

ps3 and xbox360 are gay, just get a fucking nice computer (ie. the one that heaton posted about)

Its all about specialization vs diversity. Consoles have the advantage that they basically only perform one task: to play the games. Most, or all the console's resources are focused on the game.

However, you have absolutely no way to upgrade or play against other consoles (though ps2 has like 3 games that lets you play vs pc users).

Also, tv resolution sucks..ever try plugging your comp up to a tv? Terrible. Even the best ones out there are nothing vs what a computer monitor has to offer.

I agree, PC is always the best..i sort of wish rockstar games would realize this and would release their games for PC first instead of crappy consoles
