NO MIC SOUND!

The last few times i've played i get all the regular sound i.e. footsteps, gunshots, explosions etc.....but voice is not working. The voice receive and voice transmit are at the max. in Options, and enable voice is checked. I thought it might be my windows volume control so i checked that, but it seemed ok also. Any other ideas :?:

Let's start with the basics. Answer some questions:

-- When you are in game and press your voice key, does the yellow voice symbol come up on the right side of the screen?

-- When you are not in game can you bring up the voice recorder program in Windows and verify you can hear yourself talking?

-- If you use a userconfig.cfg file in CZ, check it for any entries with the word "voice" in them and tell me what they are.

-- Did you know I have a third nipple? I want to get it surgically moved to my upper lip.

I'm not at my computer right now so i cant answer all of those. The voice icon does come up, and im pretty sure other people can hear me, i just dont hear them. The icon comes up when others are talking, i just dont hear it. This has only happened during the last week or so. Before that, i could hear everything. AS for the files, i cant check until about 6PM CST.

Make sure you didn't accidentally choose the "mute in-game voices" option.

Ahhhh, I should read better. I thought you were telling me that your mic wasn't working but you are saying you get no sound from your mic or theirs. I think it's a cvar. PM me a copy of your userconfig.cfg and config.cfg files. Moochos Grassy Ass.

I dont think i did but where is that option? Is it under Voice Option or something else? I'll check when i get home.

Make sure you don't have your mute button on your mic on, I've done that before.

Also, the other day i was playing and like halfway through a round the sound came back for some reason. It almost seemed like another window minimized itself or closed itself and then sound was restored. I dont know if this helps any or not.

You have me baffled now so don't expect anything impressive from me on this. Hopefully someone else can help. I don't know. From what you said above it almost sounds like another program running in the background is screwing with your game and they are fighting for the same resource. You got me on this one. One of you sharp people help him out.

Im going to add here instead of making anew thread. When i play i have my voice recieve volume at max, but I can't hear most of what people are saying. I can't turn down sound fx and turn up overall volume because my speakers start hissing. (who knows?) the only person i can hear all the time is BIMOND. haha I just have to guess at what people are saying half the time. So if your talking to me directly you gotta shout. No problems with enunciation, its just that volume that gets me. Or maybe i listen to too much loud music.
