there are other things that can interfere with your signal.

if there are alot of wireless connections near you house.
If you are using a cell phone close by.
if you have any 2.4ghZ cordless phones on, unplug them.

I have that problem quite often but i just unplug the wii and try again.

I have seen this happen If you have a low wireless signal. The Wii might be losing the connection and timing out, causing the error. My Wii has done this a few times. You might need to figure out a way to get a better wireless signal.
